The Universe Helps Those Who Help Themselves

Hetepu (Peace & Blessings) Family.
January is almost up and this is the time that a lot of people start giving up on their new year’s resolutions.  If you are one of these individuals, do not throw the towel in yet! Before you declare yourself a complete failure, you need to understand that the reason you are not making progress in your achieving your goals is because you cannot just tell yourself – technically your lower self or sahu – to change and expect it to change.
Remember, your lower self (the subconscious part of your being) or sahu is responsible for storing all your personal memories and emotions.  Its’ main purpose is to help you to physically survive and it does this by creating our habitual behavior.  All, of our habitual (good and bad) behavior was created to help us to cope with a specific situation at that time. In other words, our sahu creates our habits to make us feel good at the moment.  Problems arise when the habit is no longer needed because the lower self (the subconscious part of your being) or sahu does not like to change. And, to make matters worse, we cannot tell it to change. This is the reason just affirming, declaring or saying, “I am going to lose weight”, “I am going to work out”, “I am going to stop overeating”, “I am going to cut back or stop consuming process foods”, “I am going to quit smoking”, etc. does not make our sahu move.
Talking to our sahu about change is like talking to a spoiled child. The sahu is stubborn, which is the reason it is personified as Set (the Kemetic devil). That’s right! The devil is not some reddish imp running around tempting people to do evil. No. The devil is the lower you!
Understanding that Set is not some evil force outside of us but the egotistical and subconscious part of our being that feels threaten, is the reason our Kemetic ancestors also symbolized it as donkey or ass.  This was to remind us that when our sahu works, it works hard but getting it to work in our best interest is always the problem, so you must lead it by putting a carrot on the stick.
In other words, to motivate your lower self (the subconscious part of your being) or sahu, you must stimulate it through pain. Since, the lower self (the subconscious part of your being) or sahu does not like pain by presenting it with the notion that a greater pain will occur if it does not change, is enough to motivate it to do what you want.
Simply put, “Change occurs when the pain of remaining the same is greater than the pain of changing.”
What this means in a nutshell is that when you get tired of the same results. You will seek out ways to change.   When you get tired of the complications (and other social issues) associated with substance abuse, you will look for ways to overcome your abuse of food, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc. When you get tired of not having energy because you are overweight, you will be motivated to exercise on a regular basis and look for ways to help you to manage your weight.  When you get tired of being broke and living paycheck-to-paycheck, you will learn to better manage your money and explore ways to invest it to increase your finances.
It is said that God helps those who help themselves, meaning if you do not show any commitment to the change you want. You are not going to achieve change. In fact, while we’re on the subject, the reason most peoples’ prayers are not answered is because they are not truly committed to their desired change and simply give up early.  In other words, they are not really tired or serious about change.
When you get really, really tired and keep fighting for change.  A new way will open up.  Metaphysically speaking, this is when the Universe, God, your Spirits or your BA (your Higher Self or Superconscious part of your being) takes notice and is activated, which is symbolized as Osar (Asar, Ausar, Osiris). In the Kemetic Story of Osar, this whole situation is represented as Oset looking for the body of Osar and not getting anywhere until Ra sends her Npu to Open her Way.   Ra in this case (as seen on the Maa Aankh) represents the Universe opening up due to our commitment, our hard work and ‘DAT STRUGGLE against Set or destructive habitual behaviors.

It is physics. Two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time.  You either are going to be for Team Osar (creating change by activating your Superconscious) or Team Set (continuing to follow your outdated subconscious habits and receive the same tired results).

Understand Family. We are destined to win but in order for our victory to be sweet. We have to fight our greatest enemy, our lower subconscious self that refuses to change, within.
